Power protection expert Riello UPS Ltd has been crowned the winner of the ‘Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year’ award at the prestigious DCS Awards.
Taking place at London’s Grange St Paul’s Hotel, the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) Awards is the leading event to recognise and acknowledge excellence in the data centre industry.
Accepting the award on behalf of its Irish distributor, Pure Power Systems, Riello UPS was recognised for its project to drive efficiencies for Ireland’s largest telecoms operator, eir.
Pure Power Systems installed several Riello UPS uninterruptible power supplies as the solution for eir’s backup power requirements in its two data centres as part of a €6.7m project.
For the first time, in recognition of his contribution to the industry, Riello UPS’s General Manager Leo Craig was named runner-up in the hotly contended ‘Data Centre Individual of the Year’ category.
The UPS market is evolving rapidly and we worked hard with our resellers, Pure Power Systems to deliver the best-in-class technology to ensure Riello UPS’s Master High Efficiency (HE) made a significant contribution to the energy efficiency levels in the data centre, contributing to eir’s goal PUE figure of 1.3.
“We are extremely proud to be awarded this accolade of Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year, judged by our peers in the data centre industry.
“A huge congratulations to all of the other winners on the evening which was truly enjoyed by all.”
– Leo Craig, Riello UPS General Manager
